Harun Yahya and Holocaust Revisionism |

Dear sirs,
One link in your article about Harun Yahya and Holocaust Revisionism was missing:
http://web.archive.org/web/19990429183644/www.webcom.com/vural/Eng/books/HOLOCAUST.HTML
This page shows clearly that H.Y. denied the Holocaust of the jews during the first edition of "the Holocaust deception" in 1999.
The summary of the second chapter reads:
"The second chapter exposing a more conspicious historical fact, discloses the truth behind the so-called 'Jewish Holocaust' pronounced to be executed during World War II. The agreement concerning the transfer of the Jews to Palestine concluded between the Zionists and the Nazis was interrupted when the war broke out. Then it was not possible to keep on the transfer carried out by German ships. Thus, Hitler concluded together those Jews in concentration camps in order to preserve the process of isolation and make use of their men power. The camps in question; Auschwitz, Majdenek, Treblinka, Sobibor and many others were labour camps and just they were constructed near big industrial complexes. Suprisingly Zionists did not object to Hitler's plan.
What is presented as Holocaust is the death of some Jews due to the tiffus plague during the war and the famine towards the end of the war caused by the defeat of the Germans."
I hope I informed you well,
best wishes,
Jeffrey Krul |

A Crusade of Arrogance |

Just read the above article - it is an outstanding analysis, I enjoyed it very much. Having trained in physics as an undergraduate, the technical discussion was greatly appreciated and very lucid. Commendations to Mark Perakh.
Also, Ross' appeal to probability is similarly flawed, not discussed, but deserving of a similar thoughtful analysis.
Works like Ross' are essentially pieces of fiction - modern fairly tales - masquerading as analytic philosophy. Probably, fiction like Star-Trek (and some of the videos & books such as 'The Science of Star Trek') are closer to reality than Ross.
The recipe is clear, apply a thin (very thin) veneer of scientific jargon to a fictional story, and those already convinced will embrace it. Well, it is still mumbo-jumbo.

Argument from artificial selection |
Frank, Mark |
Jul 04, 2007 |
Jerry
I am totally in sympathy with your views, but I think you oversimplify the argument from artificial selection. I am pretty sure that any sophisticated IDist (including Behe) would argue that the range of phenotypes we can achieve through breeding are the result of recombination i.e. they take advantage of variety that is already present - not mutation. Is there any evidence of artificial selection taking advantage of mutations?
Incidentally is not also a bit unfair to choose dogs? I believe I read somewhere that they are unique or very unusual as a species in the range of phenotypes that have been created through artificial selection - most, maybe all, other species are less pliabe.
