I am so glad this web site exists. I recently had a blow-out with my fundamentalist pentacostal pastor father-in-law and then he introduced me to the works of Behe and other hucksters. Eventually my search ended here. Again, thanks for having this forum.

KANSAS EVOLUTION HEARINGS: Audible.com offers free audio downloads Feldberg , Steve May 08, 2005
As you're probably aware, there's a fascinating and controversial process playing out in Topeka, Kansas. A subcommittee of the state Board of Education is holding hearings on whether to add the teaching of intelligent design/creationism to the science curriculum.

As a public service, Audible.com is offering free audio downloads of the complete hearings [May 5-7, with an additional session scheduled for May 12]. Short registration is required [name & email address].

We would welcome a link to www.audible.com/kansashearings
The audio from Day 1 is already up; we’ll be adding each session day by day.

Thanks!

"Behind Closed Doors" Jeff Ahrens May 05, 2005
A local evangelical Christian channel (TLN) had two creationists who did their best to undermine evolution.

A new twist was the repeating of the phrase "behind closed doors." "Publicly, scientists still defend the theory of evolution [or some variant]." No names were given. Is this new, or has it been parroted before?

Thank you for this outstanding site. It is very helpful to a layperson like myself.

evoluton/ID in schools Engstrom, John Apr 27, 2005
The Mpls. StarTribune last Sunday April 24, 2005 had a section (AA) on teaching evolution and intelligent design in schools and had several good pro and con articles. They invite comments by readers that they will publish. Due date: May 2, addressed to: opinion@startribune.com with "evolution" in the subject line. Thay want a contact # in case they publish it. OK- I am not a writer, but feel it is a good oportunity to express your ideas to the Mpls. masses. Also no one in the articles expressed their thoughts of there being more than two theories - if we open it up to I.D, what about all the other religions that have their beliefs on how the earth was made? Shouldn't they be represented also? I don't have the background education to write intelligently on this topic , but thught it's something you could tackle.

Thanks - John
