A local evangelical Christian channel (TLN) had two creationists who did their best to undermine evolution.
A new twist was the repeating of the phrase "behind closed doors." "Publicly, scientists still defend the theory of evolution [or some variant]." No names were given. Is this new, or has it been parroted before?
Thank you for this outstanding site. It is very helpful to a layperson like myself.

Dear Jeff:
Your letter is not quite clear
regarding what those two creos said. If their notion was that scientists defend evolution publicly while :"behind closed doors" they admit its weakness, such a preposterous asseveration has been suggested by creos many
times before. Of course it is ludicrously false (for example, see the posts on this site about Project Steve such as www.talkreason.org/articles/Steve.cfm).
