Nancy Pearcey Bradshaw, Richard Jan 22, 2008
I am just coming to realise how influential this lady is. I can only cope with "Total Truth" a few pages at a time, it sends my blood pressure off the scale. She's crazy; but she's also bright and dangerous, with, it would seem, quite a fan club out there, lapping up the ID message.

I searched your site for a piece about her but there doesn't seem to be one, just a few incidental references. Some enlightened reviewer must have taken her on. Could you point me in any helpful directions? All my Googling has fetched up is a string of pieces saying how wonderful she is. AAAAGH!

I'm a theistic evolutionist, by the way.

Alive Mind's Secular Philosophy Site Launch Sheldon, Elizabeth Jan 21, 2008
Dear Secularists,

I am contacting you to let you know about the latest site that Alive
Mind (http://www.alivemindmedia.com) is launching:
http://www.SecularPhilosophy.com. We are very pleased that Daniel Dennett,
Colin McGinn and Massimo Pigliucci are confirmed bloggers and that every
Friday we will be co-hosting the Center for Inquiry's Point of Inquiry
podcast.

Hosted by D.J. Grothe, Point of Inquiry streams live interviews with
Nobel Prize-winning scientists, social critics and theorists, as well as
renowned artists and entertainers. Each conversation focuses on issues
relevant to the secular cause: religion and society, humanist values,
philosophy and scientific inquiry. On Secular Philosophy, you can listen to
the interviews, subscribe to the podcast and download them as mp3s.

In addition, we have acquired the exclusive rights to release on DVD
The Atheism Tapes
(http://blog.secularphilosophy.com/static.php?page=atheismtapes), the
source material companion series to Jonathan Miller's ground breaking A
Rough History of Disbelief, which aired on PBS. The Atheism Tapes, produced
and hosted by Jonathan Miller with the BBC, compiles off -the-record
interviews with six of today's leading thinkers who reveal why they are
atheists: Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Colin McGinn, Arthur Miller,
Denys Turner and Steven Weinberg discuss their personal intellectual
journeys and defense of non theism from a wide range of perspectives.

We will be releasing this series on our newly launched Alive Mind label
on February 15th and taking pre-orders starting February 1. Subscribe to
the free Alive Mind newsletter and receive a 10% discount when you purchase
The Atheism Tapes.

If you are interested in helping us spread the word about secular
philosophy and The Atheism Tapes by becoming an affiliate marketer, do not
hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth

Thank you Prof. Perakh Myers, John Jan 03, 2008
Dear Dr. Perakh,

Back in 2005 I followed the Dover trail very closely and was pleased with the ruling made by Judge Jones that supported Evolution, and ruled against ID as a valid scientific theory. Indeed it was the Dover trial and the debate about ID that lead me to read your book, ‘Unintelligent Design’. I enjoyed the book very much. I was particularly impressed with your debunking of William Dembski’s attempt to prove the theory of Evolution false by way of his pseudo-mathematics. I’m not a mathematician myself, so I appreciated the flaws that you pointed out in his logic.

It’s a sad fact that a good portion of the American public still does not accept Evolution, despite the overwhelming scientific evidence supporting the theory. Anti-scientific displays such as the ‘Creationist Museum’, which opened its doors last summer, and efforts by the Discovery Institute are an embarrassment to me. If these people had their way, reason would be thrown aside and we would be regressing back to beliefs held during the Dark Ages.

It doesn’t help matters much when we have unenlightened leaders, such as President G. W. Bush leading our country. Hopefully that will change for the better by the end of this year – 2008.

I hope that more scientists, and science educators, take time to battle the scientific ignorance that plagues our society today. Websites like Talk Reason and Talk Origins are a great place for people to find information explaining both Evolutionary theory and evidence, and pointing out the short-comings and lies put forth by ID and Creationists.

Keep up the good work.

Sincerely,

John Myers
